On April 7, 2023, the large-scale IP event, the third "China Automobile Festival" award ceremony hosted by China Central Radio and Television, planned and organized by CCTV2 , was broadcast on CCTV Financial Channel and CNR Business Radio, and financial news media channel simultaneously. The humanoid robot "Ginger" from Dataa Robotics was invited to participate in the award ceremony, showing the charm of science and technology and bringing a novel AI experience to the ceremony.
During the ceremony, the humanoid robot came to the scene as the intelligent experience officer of the "Automobile Metaverse" and interacted with the host in real time. Besides enriching the awards with new elements, it also vividly interpreted the meaning of the "Smart IoT” and “Smart Driving” awards, and created a technological and cordial visual feast for everyone.
In addition, as the assstant guest, Ginger also performed a group dance with other humanoid robots. The ten robots danced with the three singers to the music of the song "Mountain and River Map". Their movements were flexible and uniform while the music combines the popular elements of opera and modern dance, and the real-time collision of tradition and technology makes the whole program refreshing and full of technological sense.
It is really not easy for multiple robots to perform and dance synchronously for the complex factors on site, where multiple communication signals are interlaced, and the anti-interference is far more complicated than other scenarios. Therefore, it not only brings a lot of challenges to communication technology but also comes up with extremely high requirements for the robot's battery life, movement ability and learning ability. Ginger was selected by CCTV as a guest performer because it has won the China Red Star Design Award. The humanoid robot has a graceful humanoid figure and a beautiful face like a star. It has 34 world-leading smart compliant actuators (SCA) all over the body, covering the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, waist, knees, and chassis. It can also sing and dance well, maintain body balance and own the ability of intelligent grasping, autonomous walking, and automatic obstacle avoidance.
